Scammers

Once again I'm trying to sell something on craigslist and I'm getting spammers errrday

janeysanders1701@yahoo.com  asked me to sign up on bidzplace.com/?id=bhqt  so that she could complete the transaction on there and then pick it up in person. This was under the pretense that she did not trust people on craigslist - which logically makes no sense if you're meeting in person anyway.

  1. Same here with me, i got this email from the same person:
Hey, I would really like to buy it but the only this is that i really don't trust doing transactions over CL.. if you are willing, please post it on this website here: bidzplace.com/?id=Gtqt and i will gladly buy it and then meet you in person to pick it up and pay cash... just so we have an extra layer of protection for both of us. I only deal with registered members on the site, but I hope you understand how it can be risky buying things through craigslist now adays.

  6. Since i am completely clueless and trying to sell my first items online, i received the same email from the same lady, i typed in www.bidzplace.com and not the rest of the part, does that mean i now have a virus on my computer?

  7. No, it doesn't mean you have a virus but they wanted you to sign up so that they could collect your information. Don't do it! I'm assuming you're using craigslist to sell items so - Anyone who wants you to sign up for something or wants to pay you more than your item is worth is scamming you! You should only use Craigslist for in-person transactions to avoid these despicable people. Best of luck!

  8. Thanks Katie - kayclef2000@googlemail.com wanted me to give her my paypal account info and my email to purchase an item I have on Craig's list. Told her no way and that I would recreate an invoice for her on PayPal. But found your site and am now not going to bother. MG
