I've now been looking for a job for over 2 weeks and there's nothing!
well, I received one offer but it was an hour both ways for 4 hours a day...I'd be spending more in gas than I would be making

AIG bonuses?!?! what?!?! Why in the world do they need bonuses?! They must make 6 figures already to be getting such huge bonuses!

A 90% tax on bonuses over $250,000 is NOT enough. NO bailout money should have ever been used to pad the pockets of these men.... Those who do not voluntarily return 100% of the bonus should be sacked immediately.

But of course, it was legal...

Apparently the stimulus package contained a clause allowing this to happen.... Told you they didn't read it.

I'm getting a little tired of all this... these people that head major corporations need a little less money and a little more conscience. If they still feel like giving away bailout money they ought to go around and give it to those who desperately need it. Ugh, sometimes I'm sick about the things that others somehow justify in their minds.

I'm feeling a little iffy about this administration... none of the people Mr. Prez chose (for major positions) had paid their taxes, the bailouts are going towards vacations, redecorating and now to sick bonuses.

Oh Bernie Madoff, no no no you should not be allowed out on bail....or maybe it should be set at 50 billion so those poor poor people can be reimbursed. He has destroyed these peoples lives and needs to pay for it. Being able to return to his mansion or penthouse or whatever is not my idea of a punishment. You know if he's let out he'll just do some offshore shuffling so that he can retain as much dirty money as he can.

I would like to know how no one realized this was happening. I don't mean the investors but someone must have been monitoring his investing right?? Ahh, What a corrupt world we live in.

you know, I don't yet have any money to invest but when I do I'll be really weary of anyone who could possibly screw me over. I think I'll invest in my savings account or CD's or something. It's really sad that you have to watch your back all the time, it's really really sad that you can't trust anyone.

it's just one set up after another.

It occurs to me that a lot of life is like this.
and then I wonder what the point of leading people on is.
In general, if I don't want to do something I just say so...
It might seem a little harsh at first (maybe?), but at least I try to be real.

I also despise the fact the some people feel the need to judge us based on our age instead of the people we are. It should be quite clear by now that we are not your typical, blitzed every weekend, kids.

Garhh, I feel stuck, like my wheels are spinning.

• had a great convo with Robin about house buying, I think we're going to try to go it alone, but it's great to have her support :)


• we're home, it's a gorgeous day, and we're going to celebrate the sunset with margaritas in a few hours :)

ANNOYING-

• So I have this old friend, let's call him schmuck for convenience sake. Well ol' schmuck has been dating this girl (*Alice) for good month or two right... well schmuck and Alice have decided to get married, on Saturday. Alice has just started college barely 18 and neither of them have two nickels to rub together. They're not telling their parents - which immediatly tells me that they know that this is an odd and insane thing to do.... I wonder if schmuck understands the impact of marriage and divorce. Am I nuts?


• Also annoying, although slightly less - it's really hot but the water is way too cold to swim

Kimmel, Stem Cells and Lyme Disease

Stem cell research - Yay! I don't really understand why it was banned before now. Imagine all the people that this research can help, nervous systems issues, Parkinson's, diabetes etc... I understand that people think that it's human lives that are being destroyed but these embryos are man-made anyway (donated to science after being made for in-vitro purposes)( These blastocycsts would otherwise be thawed and disposed of - unless you're the octomom and decide to have as many children as you have embryos). An embryo, outside the body, is no more a person than the cells you lose daily. I'd also like to point out that even most implanted embryos die or do not induce pregnancy and are discarded by the body.


As you probably know, in Illinois a pastor was shot by a gunman during a church service. What?!? I'm not particularly religious, but that it ridiculous. They don't even have a motive... What would possess someone to take a life? Especially in front of an entire congregation...
My thoughts are with those who were injured and their families.

Thank God the gun jammed or there may have been even more casualties... I believe that two others were stabbed while trying to take the gunman down. The gunman apparently stabbed himself repeatedly... Fox News says that the gunman has developed a mental illness after suffering from Lyme disease... I had no idea it was SO dangerous.

BTW... Lyme disease is caused by a spirochete ( type of bacteria ), the bacteria grows in the stomach of the ticks (deer ticks in particular) and is transmitted to humans when the tick bites you.

Symptoms: rash at bite site (or red bump) that fades over time(a week or so), flu like symptoms... as the disease progresses- joint pain, neuro symptoms like numbness, and in late stages memory loss, concentration troubles and sleep disturbances.

If you think you have it - see a doctor asap.

So tonight we saw Burn After Reading.


It was awful. Plain and simple.


I'm not sure if the directors were trying to be clever or not, but the plot was thin and entirely too disconnected. There was no thinking involved in this movie... not on the part of the director, the actors, nor the viewer... unless you were thinking, 'what the...'?!?!.


This is not one for the kids. Everyone is sleeping with everyone else, divorce all around, gruesome murders, not to mention some fairly useless blackmail, oh and language. Ugh. Not that I hate all that normally, but it was just so senseless.

I usually love some good old-fashioned blackmail movies, CIA, FBI, what have you... but this really flopped in my eyes. Don't waste your time.

I'd ask for a refund, but it was On Demand.



Saw on AOL today that Rihanna may be taking Chris Brown back??? and getting married?!?!What is she thinking?! I'm not particularly a fan of her or her music but I am worried about the message she's sending to the kids that look up to her.
Maybe she should do some kind of PSA about domestic violence... at the moment she's as good as telling people that abusive relationships are worth the hassle. This is ridiculous. As a public figure, she should step up and leave his sorry behind. So many people could learn from her example and realize that being abused by anyone is NOT ok. Personally, I want the person I trust and choose to be in a relationship with to respect me enough to not beat me. ... Yeah.
